FUEL DISTRIBUTION MANAGER P NET ADVERT
Introduction
A Fuel Distribution Manager is required to operate from the R21 Truck Stop located in Olifantsfontein, Gauteng. The Fuel Distribution Manager will be responsible for the procurement and storage of bulk fuel, servicing existing clients, growing the client base to increase fuel sales for R21 (Pty) Ltd, and addressing any operational and staffing requirements.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks within the Fuel Retail space and will be tasked with the following duties:
- Driving business growth, operational excellence, and achieving financial objectives.
- Overseeing financial management and analysing stock, stock losses and variances, reconciling the bulk and forecourt tanks stock and sales, and daily and monthly cash reconciliations from the fuel court, wash bay and parking area.
- Strategic planning and execution.

- Ensuring safe delivery of bulk fuel to clients.
- Fuel planning.
- Facilitating the purchasing of fuel at optimum prices in accordance with demand and storage specifications.
- Negotiating and controlling the purchasing and selling of fuel.
- Negotiating, administering, and adhering to fuel contracts and Service Level Agreements.
- Ensure safe and timely fuel deliveries in line with customer requests.
- Establishing and maintaining communication and business relationships with all stakeholders.
- Address customer concerns related to deliveries.
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints.
- Maintain positive relationships with customers and suppliers.
- Stock control and maintenance.
- Ensure the right stock levels are kept to manage the forecasts.
- Identification of market opportunities and establishing revenue generating marketing campaigns.
- Provide revenue and stock reports to business as required.
- Prepare monthly reports based on KPI’s.
- Ensure client payments are received timeously and address all debtor issues.
- Adherence to billing and invoicing processes and procedures.
- Monitor department spend.
- Develop and manage Sales/Marketing for fuel sales and pricing strategies.
- Find opportunities for market expansion and growth.
- Ensuring business development and sourcing new clients.
- Ensuring that cash on site is banked daily.
- Enforce safety policies and regulations.
- Ensuring that risk management and health and safety is managed on site by implementing internal controls to reduce risks in the workplace in terms of incident investigations, health and safety, discipline, incidents and accidents, and injuries on duty.
- Flammable liquids to be handled and stored according to acceptable health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Certificates of Compliance to be obtained for the R21 Truck Stop’s forecourt, offices, and staff canteen.
- Conduct safety inspections and report findings.
- Compile parking reconciliations for the R21 Truck Stop per for approval and invoicing.
- Ensure the skip waste is stored according to acceptable environmental standards.
- Ensure customers produce the required purchase slips prior to making use of the R21 Truck Stop’s wash bay.
- Overseeing the CCTV cameras on the R21 Truck Stop site.
- Overseeing the forecourt attendants, general workers, and cashiers and ensuring they meet and exceed Company targets and provide maximum customer satisfaction while upholding the Company’s policies and commitment to quality.
- Monitoring equipment status and facilitate maintenance.
- Ensuring that all operating equipment is maintained in a good working condition.
- Ensuring that all services such as fuel, water, drainage, sanitation, electricity, gas, and air-conditioning are maintained and closely monitored.
- Overseeing maintenance of the forecourt, tanks, pump dispensers, bathrooms and showers, air gages and air compressors, generators, and computer and point of sale maintenance.
- Continuously improving operational efficiencies, quality assurance, and costs through effective leadership.
- Implement rosters and daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual schedules of tasks to be performed.
- Compile monthly salary schedules and submit to Payroll
- Overseeing human resources matters on site by disciplining staff, completing rosters, staff leave application forms, addressing staff enquiries, ensuring staff wear the correct PPE, ensuring staff clock-ins match their presence on site, reconciliation of hours worked, and handing out pay-slips.
EXPERIENCE
- Have a strong background in Fuel Wholesale/ Retail – FMCG
- Matric plus Sales / Logistics / Operations / Project Management / Financial Qualification
- 5 years’ Fuel / Sales / Operations / Projects / Logistics management experience
- Proficient in Microsoft office, including Excel.
